Oil Regulators Took Bribes, Did Drugs On The Job

More evidence comes to light that our federal oil regulators were doing their jobs, and then some: CNN reports that some of these "watchdogs," so to speak, took company gifts and used government computers to watch pornography while they were supposed to be working. One even dabbled in drugs, partaking in crystal meth while on the job. It doesn't end there, though: an investigator who was supposed to inspect four off-shore rigs in the Gulf of Mexico belonging to a single company did so while negotiating, and later accepting, employment with that same company.

People argue over whether or not regulation hurts business, but we can all agree that shoddy regulation like this hurts everyone.
