HARRISBURG, Pa. — March is Frozen Food Month which means all month long a flurry of activity will greet shoppers in supermarkets across the country. The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) is encouraging customers to “Discover a Whole New World of Frozen” through a partnership with DreamWorks Animation for the theatre release of The Croods.

On Sunday, March 3, a 3-page FSI with 36 million circulation will drop in newspapers across the country announcing March Frozen Food Month and offering valuable coupons from the sponsoring brands. The FSI also encourages consumers to enter the DreamWorks Family Adventure Sweepstakes hosted on NFRA’s EasyHomeMeals.com consumer website.

Fans of NFRA’s Easy Home Meals Facebook page will have a chance to win the Freezer Giveaway courtesy of Hussmann. A Hussmann® 6.73 cu. ft. glass top freezer will be awarded each week during March. The giveaway begins March 2 and ends March 29.

The Mr. Food Test Kitchen will be in the frozen food aisle on March 4, telling viewers to watch for special deals throughout March and whipping up a “quick and easy” recipe. The syndicated show airs on local news broadcasts in more than 120 markets, with 4 to 6 million viewers tuning in daily. Millions more consumers can view the show and recipe on the mrfood.com website.

This year NFRA is enhancing its efforts as part of an aggressive Frozen Food PR Campaign. There will be traditional, digital and social media outreach and activity throughout the month. NFRA will be releasing an infographic full of “cool” frozen food facts in early March. A video depicting frozen foods’ progression through the Farm to Fork story will be pitched to national media and shared on the Easy Home Meal’s social properties in mid-March.

Our Cool Food Panelists Estela of Weekly Bite, Alison of Ingredients, Inc. and Angie of Eclectic Recipes, will be sharing frozen food recipes and tips on their blogs, as well as representing NFRA in various media outlets in support of March Frozen Food Month.

NFRA has developed a toolkit for its members to help them utilize all the resources available for the month including key messaging, a template release and suggested social media posts. The toolkit will continue to be updated as the infographic, video and other resources become available so members can share them on their own websites and social media properties. For more information, contact NFRA at 717-657-8601.
