Fiat Chrysler is recalling around 470,000 vehicles worldwide after discovering an issue with headrests that could result in rear collisions.
The automotive giant says that a safety restraint control computer could degrade following years of use, which would then stop headrests from moving forward in a crash "to protesct front-row occupants from whiplash injuries."
According to a Friday report from the Associated Press, the recall spans some 2012 Jeep Liberty SUVs, 2012-2013 Chrysler 200 models and Dodge Avenger midsize sedans.
U.S. safety regulators began investing the issue after receiving 44 customer complaints.
The automaker says that, to date, it's unaware of any injuries related to the recall.
