Float Sensors, No Power

Hermetic Switch, Inc. (Chickasha, OK) has released a new series of liquid level sensors — also known as float sensors — under the PRX+1660 brand. The sensors can be used for level sensing or monitoring of brake fluid, contained water, or oil, among others, and is limited only to the series’ material of construction.

The sensors can be used for level sensing or monitoring of brake fluid, contained water, or oil, among others, and is limited only to the series’ material of construction. The reed-switch-based designs require no electric power to function since they operate using a permanent magnet designed into the level sensor, allowing them to be used in extreme environments for an extended period of time. Both “normally open” and “normally closed” configurations are available.
