The jewelry retailer forecast a larger profit and better sales than analysts expected.

Newmont Mining Corp., up 48 cents to $25.83

The gold miner rose as the price of gold continued to trade near its 12-month high.

Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc., down $14.85 to $65.80

The drugmaker withdrew its financial forecasts and said it's not ready to release preliminary fourth-quarter results.

Lumber Liquidators Holdings Inc., up 22 cents to $11.33

The hardwood flooring retailer reported a bigger-than-expected loss and less revenue than analysts had expected.

Consol Energy Inc., up 79 cents to $8.63

The coal miner and natural gas producer rose after it said it will sell coal reserves and several mines as energy prices remain weak.

NRG Energy Inc., down 30 cents to $10.78

The operator of natural gas, solar and wind power plants slumped on a disappointing earnings report.
