Honeywell Launches Research Chemical Business

Honeywell this week launched a new business designed to provide materials for advanced chemical research.

Honeywell this week launched a new business designed to provide materials for advanced chemical research.

The new division, Honeywell Research Chemicals, will supply reagents and solvents for applied materials, analytical testing and drug discovery, the company announced.

Honeywell aims to provide highly customized options for researchers, including innovative supply chain solutions and convenient e-commerce operations. The company also announced the launch of a purchasing website to make inventory management faster and easier.

Company officials said that market changes and consumer trends — in fields such as air quality and food safety — dramatically altered chemical research in recent years.

“Our customers are looking for a supplier that can be trusted to be with them through every step of the research process, from small-scale to development to production,” Arnaud Verhaeghe, the new division's general manager, said in a statement.

Honeywell Research Chemicals will incorporate brands, solvents and inorganic chemical products acquired from Sigma-Aldrich late last year.

The new business, organized under Honeywell's Fine Chemicals division, will include four product portfolios and be based near Hanover, Germany.
