OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — ConAgra Foods will release its second-quarter earnings report this morning.
The Omaha-based company makes Chef Boyardee, Marie Callender's, Orville Redenbacher, Banquet and other branded foods.
Last month, ConAgra announced a $5 billion deal to purchase Ralcorp. That deal will make ConAgra the biggest producer of store-brand foods in the nation.
But that deal won't affect the latest results because Ralcorp shareholders still must approve it.
ConAgra says it is expecting its fiscal 2013 earnings to fall between $2.03 and $2.06 per share without the Ralcorp deal.
The Ralcorp deal should provide a modest boost to ConAgra's 2013 results, but it's not scheduled to be completed until near the end of the company's fiscal year.
