N.D. Gov.: New Food Processing Plant Completed

North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple says work has been completed on a $30 million food processing plant in Minot. Dalrymple says the United Pulse Trading facility is expected to hire 45 people, bringing the company's total North Dakota employment to 100 workers.

MINOT, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple says work has been completed on a $30 million food processing plant in Minot.

Dalrymple says the United Pulse Trading facility is expected to hire 45 people, bringing the company's total North Dakota employment to 100 workers.

United Pulse Trading also has facilities in Bismarck and Williston. The subsidiary of Alliance Grain Traders Inc. deals with crops such as peas, beans and lentils.

In addition to traditional processing, the plant will also produce flours, proteins, fibers and other food ingredients.

United Pulse expects to process more than 75,000 metric tons of pulse crops at the Minot plant annually.
