(Manufacturing.net) — The Baltimore, Md.-based mobility solutions provider has today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Miles Technologies, Inc., to increase its presence in the central U.S. and expand its RFID offerings. Barcoding, Inc., currently provides services in the development, deployment and management of supply chain and mobility systems, with 2,500 customers in the food and beverage, distribution and general manufacturing industries. The companies did not disclose details of the financial arrangement of the acquisition.
Miles Technologies currently has two offices in the Chicago area and a third in St. Louis, while being based out of Lake Zurich, Ill. Before the acquisition, the company provided barcode and RFID equipment for warehouse management and asset tracking, and developed the associated software. The Addison, Ill., location offers a 7,500 square-foot Technology Integration Center that helps customers decide which combination of RFID, voice picking, wireless and barcode applications will work best in their particular application.
In a statement, Shane Snyder, president, Barcoding, Inc., said, “As Barcoding celebrates our 15th anniversary this year, it is clear that we are well on our way to achieving our vision of national expansion and growth. Because of Miles Technologies’ excellent industry reputation and expertise in RFID technology, we decided that working together would better accommodate our enterprise customers while providing us with a stronger presence in the Chicago area and beyond.”
