President-elect Donald Trump has so far taken a rather combative approach to China. Having received a call from Taiwan president Tsai Ing-wen followed by a middle-of-the-night twitter rant, the long-abided by principle of 'one China', which officially counts independently governed Taiwan as part of the Chinese nation, has suddenly been pulled into the spotlight. The infographic below looks at the importance of the island nation to U.S. trade. In 2015, Taiwan was the States' ninth largest goods trading partner.
