The owner of a Texas chemical plant that partially exploded during Hurricane Harvey in August is being sued by Harris County.

The Harris County Attorneyโ€™s Office said Arkema Inc.โ€™s Crosby facility violated Texas environmental laws when toxic chemicals were released during flooding and fires. According to the lawsuit filed last week, the incident sickened responders and residents.

The lawsuit seeks up to $1 million in penalties and order Arkema to upgrade its emergency response plans.
