General Mills Canada's Cheerios And Honey Nut Cheerios Not Included In US Recall

General Mills Canada confirmed this week that the Cheerios and Honey Nut Cheerios cereals it sells in Canada are not included in the recall announced recently by General Mills in the United States.

TORONTO (PRNewswire) — General Mills Canada confirmed this week that the Cheerios and Honey Nut Cheerios cereals it sells in Canada are not included in the recall announced recently by General Mills in the United States.  Canadian Cheerios and Honey Nut Cheerios cereals can be identified by their distinctive bilingual English-French packaging.

General Mills voluntarily recalled several days of production of original (yellow box) Cheerios and Honey Nut Cheerios cereal sold in the United States and produced at its Lodi, California facility on certain dates in July of this year because of an undeclared allergen – wheat.  General Mills did not ship these cereals to Canada.

General Mills Canada does not source any Cheerios products from the company's plant in Lodi, California.  Canadian Cheerios and Honey Nut Cheerios cereals are produced at a different facility and are not included in the recall.

The company's voluntary recall of product produced and sold in the United States affects original Cheerios and Honey Nut Cheerios with the following "BETTER IF USED BY" code dates:
