On Wednesday, Constellation Brands issued a voluntary recall in the U.S. of Corona Extra 12- and 18-packs that might contain “small particles of glass.”
The recall is relatively large in scope, and Constellation Brands estimates that approximately 1 in every 5,000 bottles in the marketplace are affected.
“The safety and well-being of consumers is our top priority and we take matters pertaining to the quality of our products very seriously,” said President of Constellation Brands Beer Division Paul Hetterich in a statement.
This is the Mexican beer maker’s second recall in the past two years — the other occurred in 2014.
At this time, Constellation Brands says that no consumers have been harmed.
