Tapeswitch Corporation (Farmingdale, New York) has released the Senetec Solutions compact safety laser scanner — UAM-02LP-T302 — for use in collision prevention, presence detection and intrusion detection applications. According to the company, this laser scanner offers a wide 190° detection zone, and can be set to a maximum protection range of 2 meters, or a maximum warning range of 10 meters, depending on the application. A status indicator located on the front of the scanner shows the currently-selected area and error number in real time. The scanner is compatible with mounting bracket options for both vertical and horizontal mounting, and has small dimensions: 3-13/16” height x 3-9/16” width x 3-15/16” length. Tapeswitch says the scanner is IP65-rated for environmental conditions, and has low power consumption.
