SICK Launches Three Washdown-Proof Safety Light Curtains

SICK has launched the C4000 Palletizer Advanced and the M4000 Standard safety light curtains with IP 49K housings for use in washdown applications. The housings are capable of withstanding corrosive and moist environments, along with various chemicals, such as acetic, hydrochloric and sulfuric acid.

The housings are capable of withstanding corrosive and moist environments, along with various chemicals, such as acetic, hydrochloric and sulfuric acid. A smooth plastic PMMA housing and stainless steel end caps and mounting brackets help eliminate bacteria growth when food accumulates in grooves. According to the company, both curtains are idea for washdown applications in chemical or meat processing facilities. The M4000 come in two 4-beam versions and one active/passive version with a scanning range from 0.5 to 4m, while the C4000 features a 30mm resolution and a protective height of 1,050mm.
