The Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA) recently announced additional educational programs at PROCESS EXPO 2015. These session are being organized by the American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI) and admission will be free of charge for all registered attendees of PROCESS EXPO.
The first topic, “Systems-Based Approach for Control and Prevention of Listeria monocytogenes in Frozen Food Production Environments,” will be broken into two consecutive parts beginning at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 15th and concluding at 3:30 pm. These two presentations will be offered by Dr. Kelly Stevens, QRO Technology Leader for General Mills, Inc and Dr. Donna Garren, Senior Vice President, Regulatory & Technical Affairs for AFFI.
The second topic, “FSMA: How will it impact your business and how should you prepare?” will take place on Wednesday, September 16th at 10:00 am. This important topic will look at how FSMA will affect food processors in the frozen food category and will be presented by Dr. Robert Brackett , Director of the Institute for Food Safety and Health of the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT).
“This is a great addition to the PROCESS EXPO UNIVERSITY program as it speaks to one of the most exciting sectors of the dynamic food industry,” said FPSA President and CEO David Seckman. “We are excited to have AFFI participate in our event and the expertise that they bring to the table. We are confident that processors will also see the value in these sessions.”
These sessions are just a small part of the PROCESS EXPO UNIVERSITY program. This year’s program includes 35+ hours of education addressing a wide variety of important topics that cover all major segments of the food and beverage industry. Presented by experts from 15 of North America’s top university food science programs, these sessions are free of charge to any registered attendee and will be conducted during show hours throughout the four day event. Advance registration for these sessions is not require but recommended given their high demand.
