On Thursday, Amazon gave New Yorkers an early Christmas present when it announced that its one-hour booze delivery service would expand to Manhattan.
Amazon said that the one-hour delivery costs $7.99 but that the two-hour service is free to members of its Prime loyalty program who use the Prime Now mobile app.
Until now, the delivery service was only offered in Amazon’s hometown of Seattle.
In a statement, Prime Now’s Worldwide Director Stephanie Landry said, “We are excited to continue to expand our offerings whether that’s adding beer, wine and spirits in Manhattan starting today or continuing to increase the number of local stores and restaurants in the service.”
No word yet if Amazon is planning to expand this convenience service to other cities, but it never hurts to hope.
