Flir Systems Gets $49.9M Navy Contract

WILSONVILLE, Ore. (AP) -- Flir Systems said Friday it received a contract with the U.S. Navy worth $49.9 million over five years.

Flir said it will provide imaging systems for Navy and Coast Guard ships. The company said it will provide a version of its SeaFLIR electro-optical and infrared imaging system. Work under the contract is expected to last five years, ending in September 2018.

Flir Systems Inc. makes imaging and surveillance systems used for everything from border control to explosives detection. Its shares lost 16 cents to $31.32 in morning trading.
