Tough Videoscopes

Olympus NDT (Waltham, MA) announces the new IPLEX LX and IPLEX LT industrial videoscopes, designed for a wide range of remote visual inspections where access is limited. The new scopes are compact — about half the weight of the IPLEX FX — due to their thin LCD monitor, which makes them ideal for usable inside boiler rooms, airplane fuselages, or wind turbine gearboxes.

Other features include:

  • Compliance with IP55 and MIL-STD-810F standards for resistance to dust and rain, allowing operation in dusty or sandy conditions.
  • An easy-to-use interface that allows users of any experience level to operate the scope, according to the company.
  • A WiDER (Wide Dynamic Extended Range) image processing capability that brings out detail in shadowed and highlighted areas.
  • High-quality JPEG still images and MPEG-4 movies that are easily recordable to a removable USB flash drive.
