Wide-Range Motion Detection

Baumer (Southington, CT) has developed the Long-Range ParCon for sensing applications involving distances as far as 200mm. The analog optical line sensors project a continuous 24mm-wide beam of parallel light to a reflector, creating a reliable detection of moving parts as small as 0.

Baumer (Southington, CT) has developed the Long-Range ParCon for sensing applications involving distances as far as 200mm. The analog optical line sensors project a continuous 24mm-wide beam of parallel light to a reflector, creating a reliable detection of moving parts as small as 0.5mm. The sensor can also measure object widths, regardless of the target’s position. The ParCon is capable of processing rates up to 1kHz with resolutions up to 0.1mm, and is designed to accurately detect material edges in applications such as packaging, textile manufacturing, paper production, or printing. The sensor can also be used in PCB manufacturing, food packaging, and metalworking applications.
