Better Sensors For Gas Detection

Detcon (The Woodlands, TX) has released the Model SG1 portable single-gas detector that uses electrochemical sensor technology to detect and monitor any one of five gases: hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, hydrogen, oxygen, or sulfur dioxide. The detector is controlled by an advanced microprocessor for automatic zero-calibration and easy set-up.

Other benefits include:

  • A backlit LCD screen that continuously displays battery life and real-time gas concentration in ppm or concentration.
  • Short Term Exposure Limit and Time-Weighted Average functions to trigger a warning of prolonged exposure to a specific gas.
  • Maximum and minimum gas concentrations that can be programmed and monitored.
