(Ottawa, IL) has expanded its family of industrial-grade Elinx Ethernet Extenders with models featuring built-in Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) and network management (called managed) capabilities. Using existing copper wire infrastructure (Cat5 cable or two straight wires from the telephone line) to avoid the cost and hassle of fiber or new construction, the Elinx Ethernet Extenders allow users to simply and inexpensively deploy remote security cameras, IP phones, and other Ethernet devices beyond Ethernet’s 328 foot limit. The new PoE+ models also overcome the challenge of powering remote devices placed nowhere near a power source by providing power directly from the extended Ethernet port.
