DHL Customers Now Able To Ask Alexa For Shipment Updates

The German parcel giant announced the incorporation of Amazon's voice recognition technology into its customer service platform this week.

German parcel giant DHL the week announced the incorporation of Amazon's voice recognition technology into its customer service platform.

As of Monday, DHL customers using can ask their Amazon Echo or Echo Dot speakers about the status of their package delivery โ€” and receive an answer from the e-retailer's Alexa virtual assistant app.

โ€œWe want to continually expand and improve service levels for our customers, so of course weโ€™re going to take a close look at any new and innovative technologies available," DHL's Michaela Lukas said in a statement.

DHL plans to bolster the service later this year with information on DHL outlet locations, along with their products, prices and hours of operation.
