Fullerton, CA – Now available on Laboratory-Equipment website is the SmartBlue™ Blue Light Transilluminator for electrophoresis-gel imaging. The blue light from this compact Accuris instrument emits at a wavelength of 465 nm and is safer for personnel and DNA samples than ultra-violet (UV) light. The viewing system improves downstream cloning efficiency compared to UV light.
SmartBlue Transilluminator is ideal for environmentally friendly alternatives to the fluorescing ethidium bromide (EtBr) used to stain nucleic acids. Evenly spaced high-intensity LED lights are diffused and work with non-polarizing filters to light the viewing surface and prevent reflection. Labs get 30,000 hours of instrument service light, and an automatic 5-minute shut-off saves energy. The 6.6" x 4.75" viewing surface is scratch-resistant.
SmartBlue comes with a two-position amber filter cover for easy access and gel removal, and is compatible for use with Accuris SmartDoc™ Imaging System and SmartGlow™ reagents.
