CINCINNATI (AP) — An Ohio college's new center focused on artificial intelligence plans an AI Summit this month to promote its role and potential uses in health care.

Xavier University will host representatives from the medical device and pharmaceutical industries as well as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in its Aug. 24-25 meeting . Organizers plan to form working teams to develop AI plans to solve quality, regulatory and supply chain challenges.

They hope to present solutions at an AI Summit next year.

IBM Watson Health, Dell, Johnson & Johnson and Eli Lilly & Co. are among companies expected to participate.

Xavier Health runs the private college's center for AI, which opened in June.
