Bank stocks led the market higher as bond yields jumped, which points to higher interest rates and bigger lending profits.

Technology companies slumped as investors worried that Donald Trump's policies as president will hurt their sales overseas.
Harman International Industries Inc., up $22.07 to $109.72
Samsung agreed to buy Harman, which makes products for connected cars including audio systems and safety and entertainment features.

German industrial equipment company Siemens agreed to buy the software maker for $4.5 billion, or $37.25 a share.
Digi International Inc., up $1.75 to $13.40
The communication adapters maker received an offer from communications equipment company Belden, but rejected it because it's too low.
TransDigm Group Inc., down $19.35 to $252.94
The aircraft components maker reported mixed quarterly results and investors found its profit forecast disappointing.
