SPRING CITY, Tenn. (AP) — State officials say Huber Engineered Woods plans to reopen its manufacturing facility in Spring City.

Officials say the company, which makes specialty flooring, wall and roof building products for residential and light commercial projects, will create about 140 new jobs in Rhea County with the reopening.

The facility originally opened in 1997, but halted production during the housing market downturn in 2011.

Located northeast of Chattanooga, the facility is undergoing upgrades as it prepares to begin making specialty panel products including AdvanTech subflooring and ZIP System sheathing products beginning in April 2018.

Huber will begin hiring at the facility in early 2017.
