LONDON (AP) — This is a look at the makeup of Blaenau Gwent County in Wales, where more residents voted to leave the European Union than to remain in it:
REFERENDUM VOTE: Some 62 percent of those who voted in Blaenau Gwent County in Wales chose "leave;" 38 percent voted "remain."
POPULATION: The county had an estimated population of 69,544 in 2015.
AGE OF POPULATION: Some 18 percent of the population was over the age of 65 in 2015. At the same time, 20 percent were under 18.
EMPLOYMENT TYPES: Some 20 percent of employed residents work in the manufacturing industry. Just over 17 percent work in health and social work, according to the 2011 census.
EDUCATION LEVELS: More than one in three residents 16 or over has no recognized educational qualifications. This is the highest rate in Wales.
RECENT VOTING PATTERNS: In the last two general elections, voters elected a Labour Party representative to Parliament and a Labour-affiliated independent candidate.
