EAST CAMDEN, Ark. (AP) — Lockheed Martin says it will restart production this year of rocket launchers at its facility in south Arkansas.

The plant in East Camden previously built 480 rocket launchers but stopped production for the U.S. military in 2013. Officials say it will restart production later this year and have 12 built by the end of next year.

Lockheed Martin also said Tuesday that the East Camden plant will produce the Tactical Missile System, which was previously made at a plant near El Paso, Texas.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1ToTRtH ) that the company will not add any employees in East Camden for production of the rocket launcher and missile system. The plant now has about 650 employees and is the largest employer in the area.
