LANCASTER, Ohio (AP) — A worker at a central Ohio glass manufacturing plant has died after the dome of a ceramic tank collapsed.

It happened Monday afternoon at the Anchor Hocking plant in Lancaster, about 30 miles southeast of Columbus.

Fire officials say three workers were inside the tank, trying to make repairs when the dome collapsed. Officials say the tank is usually filled with molten glass, but it was empty at the time.

Two of the workers were able to escape, but one became trapped. That person was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials have not released the name of the victim.

The investigation is ongoing.
