DETROIT (AP) -- General Motors Co. said on Wednesday that it has named Selim Bingol as its new vice president of communications, beginning March 8.
Bingol, 49, takes over from Chris Preuss, who was named vice president and president of GM unit OnStar.
GM announced a major management reshuffling on Tuesday.
Bingol reports to Chairman and CEO Ed Whitacre. He most recently worked as senior vice president and senior partner at PR firm Fleishman-Hillard.
Before that he led the public relations department at AT&T, which he joined in 2004.
