ALEXANDRIA, Minn., July 11, 2012 – Alexandria Industries today announced that Mark Turley has joined the company as its renewable energy market leader. In his new role, Turley will help customers engineer and manufacture their renewable energy equipment, including solar panel structures, using the company’s precision machining and custom aluminum extrusion.

Turley brings more than 30 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, sales management, and plant management for steel and aluminum products to Alexandria Industries. He has developed and deployed millions of pounds of aluminum-fabricated products for solar projects in the U.S. and in Spain.

“The alternative energy industry needs component suppliers who understand – and can deliver on – customers’ unique and very exacting design and material needs,” said Tom Schabel, CEO, Alexandria Industries. “Mark has been on the front line of renewable energy for years, and his market knowledge and commitment will be a tremendous asset to customers seeking engineered systems.”

Turley most recently served as president and owner of Projected Energy LLC, providing supply chain services, project management, materials supply and manufacturing solutions within the renewable energy market. Previously he was director of solar and renewable energy for Sapa Extrusions North America, where he led efforts for marketing, sales and manufacturing within solar and renewable energy projects throughout North America.

“This is a pivotal time for renewable energy projects in our country, and successful implementation of project design and manufacturing requires knowledgeable and qualified component suppliers,” Turley said. “I couldn’t be happier to apply my experience with the expertise of Alexandria Industries to help customers.”

Turley received his bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Ottawa University and his master’s in business administration management from Western International University.
