Dirty Deeds: $500 Reward Issued in Maine Diaper Dumper Case

In addition to the waste, the diapers contain chemicals that could be harmful to fish and wildlife.

FARMINGTON, Maine (AP) — A dumping case has police on the lookout for the person who has tossed more than 24 buckets of dirty diapers into the streams of Maine.

The Maine Warden Service says more than two-dozen five-gallon buckets containing soiled diapers have been thrown into streams in Wilton and Farmington in the last few months.

Wardens say in addition to the waste, the diapers contain chemicals that could be harmful to fish and wildlife.

A $500 reward has been offered for information leading to a summons and conviction in the littering case.
