HOUSTON (AP) _ LyondellBasell Industries (LYB) on Friday reported third-quarter profit of $1.06 billion.
The Houston-based company said it had profit of $2.67 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to $2.41 per share.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.43 per share.
The oil refiner and chemical company posted revenue of $8.52 billion in the period, which beat Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $8.09 billion.
LyondellBasell shares have increased 18 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has increased 14 percent. The stock has increased 26 percent in the last 12 months.
