With 2018 revenues of more than $420 billion, China’s Sinopec Group ranks first on the list of the world’s leading oil and gas companies. Shell follows closely behind, with Saudi Aramco—whose accounts had remained mostly secret since the company was nationalized in the 1970s—rounding out the top three. U.S. oil and gas company Exxon Mobil found itself in sixth that year, with a total 2018 revenue of around $279 billion.
