The SZ25 electrode and workpiece transfer robot from Sodick.
Sodick
Sodick (Schaumberg, IL) recently introduced the SZ25 electrode and workpiece transfer robot. Designed to support higher productivity and reliable unattended manufacturing, the compact automation system enables manufacturers to maximize machine use while minimizing operator involvement.
The SZ25 features:
- A 6-axis robot and integrated storage system housed within a single enclosure.
- The ability to connect two machines and automatically exchange both electrodes and workpieces, supporting two sinker EDMs, two high-speed milling machines, or one of each.
- Large-capacity storage and advanced scheduling capabilities enable extended lights-out operation.
- The ability to link directly with machine NC programs and supports both Sodick EDM scheduling functions and third-party PC-based schedulers.
- A large touchscreen interface, transparent access doors, pull-out shelves, and internal LED lighting simplify setup, operation and maintenance while enhancing accessibility.
