UPS Expands Expedited Ocean Freight Services, Global Reach

UPS has announced the expansion of its Preferred Less-Than-Container Load (PLCL) expedited ocean freight service, which now includes western Europe. Additional port access will open in German, the Netherlands, Belgium and the United Kingdom, which the company says will provide shippers up to 40 percent faster delivery time.

UPS (Atlanta, Ga.; NYSE: UPS) has announced the expansion of its Preferred Less-Than-Container Load (PLCL) expedited ocean freight service, which now includes western Europe. Additional port access will open in German, the Netherlands, Belgium and the United Kingdom, which the company says will provide shippers up to 40 percent faster delivery time. Customers will have access to the same visibility technologies used for package shipments. The company says the PLCL service has been very successful in Asia, and the expansion will enable U.S. importer and European manufacturers get business done faster than ever.
