Brennan's restaurant, an establishment founded mid-century and run by the family of the same name, has closed its doors in New Orleans' French Quarter. The food landmark is credited with inventing dishes like bananas Foster. Commentators credit the restaurant's demise to infighting with the Brennan clan, several of which have opened their own highly regarded restaurants. Tim Zagat, co-founder of the Zagat restaurant guide, said:
It's just such a great, great institution. With the spaces inside, the famous dishes that they created. It would be a shame to lose it.
