General Mills led yet another fundraising campaign for Texas natural snack company Rhythm Superfoods.

Rhythm, which makes Kale Chips, Beet Chips and Broccoli Bites, this week announced the conclusion of a $6 million round of fundraising with a lead investment from 301 INC, General Mills' development and venture division.

301 INC was also the lead investor during a $3 million fundraising campaign completed just more than one year ago.

The investments were among several made by General Mills in companies perceived as healthier as the Minnesota-based food giants looks to capitalize on shifting consumer preferences.

“We are elated with our new investment from 301 INC and look forward to continuing this strategic partnership and seeing what we can accomplish for the brand together,” Rhythm CEO Scott Jensen said in a statement.

Rhythm said that the company expanded into new markets and distribution channels and "grew to become the leading brand of kale chips in the market" between its two fundraising bids.

Additional investors in the recent fundraising round included Blueberry Ventures and the CircleUp Growth Fund. CircleUp, a consumer and retails investment marketplace, was used exclusively to fill the latest campaign.
