Bombardier Books $1B Order For New C-Series Jets

The Canadian plane maker aims to begin delivering by the end of next year to an unidentified buyer.

Bombardier said Sunday that it received a conditional order valued at about $1 billion for 15 of the new C-Series aircraft the Canadian plane maker aims to begin delivering by the end of next year.

Bombardier Inc. said the customer asked to remain unidentified and ordered five CS100 and 10 CS300 jetliners. Representatives of the Montreal-based company could not be reached for comment about conditions on the order.

The company said in a statement it has firm orders for 138 C-Series airliners. Customers include Deutsche Lufthansa AG, which ordered 30 CS100 aircraft and feeder airline operator Republic Airways, which ordered 40 CS300 versions.

The new planes will have 100 to 149 seats, a size typically flown by major airlines.
