Tornado Hits Cannabis Farm in Oklahoma

The farm lost about 95 percent of its crop in less than a minute.

On Wednesday, a tornado destroyed a medical marijuana farm near Maud, Oklahoma and threatened the lives of some 30 employees who live and work on the farm.

According to local news, Imagination Farms lost about 95 percent of its crop in less than a minute. The owner, Tom Lee, says he won't be able to sell any of the plants exposed during the storm.

Luckily, no one was harmed during the event. Lee took shelter in a nearby RV and could hear the storm wreaking havoc on his greenhouses and flipping buildings.

Lee estimates plant losses valued at about $95,000 and a loss of nearly 50 greenhouses, according to KOCO.

The farm has been operational for two years.

The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority was on schene to make sure licensed products were secure.

According to local officials, another cannabis farm in the area was also damaged in the storm.
