Walmart Reduces Shopper Volume by 80 Percent

Walmart employees will be stationed at store entrances and exits to count customers and enforce the limits.

According to a report on BusinessInsider.com, Walmart started limiting the number of customers allowed in its stores this past weekend.

The measures, which will limit stores to five customers per 1,000 square feet of shopping space, will be used to reinforce safe social distancing practices.

These restrictions will keep the stores at roughly 20 percent of their normal operating capacity.

Walmart has designated a single entrance and a single exit for each of its stores. Once capacity is hit, customers will be admitted on a 1-out-1-in basis.
