A fire erupted at a chlorine plant in Spain Wednesday morning, sending a giant plume of toxic black smoke into the sky and triggering a dramatic explosion.
Several videos have appeared on social media, offering a clear view of the scene.
According to local media, about 3,000 workers were evacuated from the plant. One person was treated for burns and then released from the hospital. There have been no reports of casualties.
The blast from the plant sent debris sailing through the air and caused local officials to cancel classes at nearby schools for the day.
The plant is located in an industrial area in the town of Fuente del Jarro, near the eastern coast of Spain. The fire reportedly spread to nearby ships.
So far, it is unclear what caused the blast.
