An investigation continues after a worker died earlier this week in an accident at an Alabama automotive metals manufacturing plant.

According to reports, on Tuesday, Aug. 8 a 23-year-old male Adient employee was killed after receiving head injuries. The accident, which allegedly involved a laser welder, occurred around 7 a.m. at the company’s automotive metals manufacturing plant in Clanton, AL.

A company spokesperson said the company is “mourning the loss of their colleague and their thoughts are with the family.”

According to the company website, Adient operates more than 230 manufacturing and assembly plants in 32 counties.

The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) is investigating the accident.
