FDA Holding Food Defense Workshops

The goal of the full-day workshop is to provide the food industry with an understanding of food defense, the tools and resources available, and to walk participants through a series of exercises on how to create a food defense plan for their facilities.

SILVER SPRING, Md. (FDA) — The FDA will be convening a series of Food Defense Workshops around the country. The goal of the full-day workshop is to provide members of the food industry with an understanding of food defense, the tools and resources available, and to walk participants through a series of exercises on how to create a food defense plan for their facilities. Much of the day will be spent introducing the FDA’s Food Defense Plan Builder software program. Participants will be guided through a series of exercises using the tool and there will be open discussions and question and answer sessions throughout the day.

October 21, 2013 – Denver, CO

This workshop is being held in cooperation with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

October 23, 2013 - Albuquerque, NM

This workshop is being held in cooperation with the Southwest Border Food Safety and Defense Center.

November 6, 2013 – Chicago, IL

This workshop is being held in cooperation with the International Dairy Foods Association at the International Dairy Show.
