Wheelift Systems (Waverly, IA) has announced its space-saving, self-propelled trailers (SPT) in capacities to 100 tons. According to the company, the trailers are ideal for in-plant operation in congested, confined areas, and narrow intersection aisles. In addition, they include computerized independent steering, on-center rotating front axles, remote control operation, a low-profile design, and onboard power generation. They are powered by a 480V, 3-phase AC, LP gas engine-drive generator. While Wheelift SPTs can be built to a wide range of capacities and dimensions, the 100-ton unit has an overall length of 21’, a width of 8’, and a deck height of 27”. The 15” x 7.5” solid urethane wheels can operate on virtually any floor surface, the company claims.
