Twisty Cable Carriers

igus (East Providence, RI) has developed a compact cable carrier system that can turn through 3,000 degrees in a minimal space: the TwisterBand TB30. The system guides energy, data, and media with little wear, and at high rotating speeds, the carrier stays close to the axis. According to igus, the carrier is designed for one and a half complete rotations, coupled with high dynamics.

  • The ability to make rapid rotating movements up to 3,000 degrees, which depends only on the belt length or design height in the axis of rotation.
  • A smaller mass, which makes possible rotary speeds up to 720°/second.
  • An injection-molded chain has easy access links, allowing users to simply press in cables and hoses through split openings.
