30,000-Pound Capacity Grip

Bushman AvonTec (Milwaukee, WI) has introduced a 30,000-pound capacity gripping tong grab to handle work rolls in a steel mill. The tong includes chock stabilizers that keep the top-heavy chocks on the ends of the roll from flipping over. Operation is all mechanical and utilizes an automatic latching device.
