Double Planetary Mixer

Double Planeteary Mixers are ideal for processing a wide range of applications including viscous pastes, dough-like recipes, powder blends and granulations.

Company's Double Planetary Mixers, or DPM's, are ideal for processing a wide range of applications including viscous pastes, dough-like recipes, powder blends and granulations. Two identical blades rotate on individual axes while revolving around the vessel on a common axis. The gentle but thorough agitation is very effective for mixing shear-sensitive gels and other fragile mixtures. Designed for R&D and pilot-scale production from 1/2 pint to 5 gallons, Ross Laboratory DPM’s are advantageous for products batched only in small quantities due to limited demand or short shelf life. Once production expands, scaling up is very straightforward as large capacity models are available in many sizes up to 700 gallons. Sanitary units in standard and heavy-duty configurations are offered. Popular features and options include sight/charge ports, 150-grit internal polish and higher, helical High Viscosity “HV” blades, heating/cooling jacket, sidewall thermowell, cove plug valve, built-in vacuum pump, discharge system and touchscreen controls.
