Approximately 1 in 6 Americans will get sick this year from eating contaminated foods, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or CDC. These food outbreaks, like Listeria and Salmonella, can produce a domino effect on business, communities and the U.S. economy. It is estimated that contaminated foods costs the U.S.S $15.5 billion a year.

As the nation continues to help fight foodborne diseases, Business Pulse, an online resource developed by the CDC Foundation, has put together an interactive infographic focusing on how the CDC fights these illnesses and how American consumers and businesses alike can stay protected from contaminated foods.
